Effective Date: April 24, 2026  |  Last Updated: April 29, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Amooz App Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you:

  • Visit our website at amoozstudio.app (the “Website”);
  • Use MathStudy, our Android mobile application (the “App”); or
  • Contact us through any of the channels described below.

We refer to the Website, the App, and any other products or services we may offer collectively as the “Services.”

In this Privacy Policy, the terms “we,” “us,” “our,” and “Amooz App Studio” refer to Mahamud Hussain, an individual developer trading as Amooz App Studio, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The terms “you” and “your” refer to the individual using our Services.

Amooz App Studio is currently operated as a personal project by an individual developer. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal information under applicable data protection laws, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and applicable data protection laws of Bangladesh.

We take your privacy seriously. We have written this Privacy Policy in plain, straightforward language so you can understand our practices. If anything is unclear, please contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section at the end of this document.

2. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals who interact with our Services, including:

  • Visitors to amoozstudio.app;
  • Users of the MathStudy Android application;
  • Individuals who contact us through our contact form, support email, or other communication channels;

  • “Processing” means any operation performed on personal information, such as collection, storage, use, disclosure, or deletion.
  • “Services” means our Website, the MathStudy App, and any other products or services we provide.
  • “Third Party” means any person or organization other than Amooz App Studio and you.
  • “Anonymous Identifier” means a randomly generated identifier (for example, a Firebase Installation ID) that is assigned to an installation of our App and that does not, on its own, identify you personally.

4. Information We Collect (Overview)

We collect information in three main ways:

  • Information you provide directly to us — for example, when you email us or fill out the contact form on the Website.
  • Information we collect automatically — for example, device information, usage information, and analytics data collected while you use our Services.
  • Information generated by your use of our AI features — for example, photos of math problems you scan or upload, and the text of math questions you enter.

The specific types of information collected depend on which Service you are using. The Website-specific section (Section 12) and App-specific sections (starting at Section 13) give the full detail. The rest of Section 4 describes categories of information that may be collected across multiple Services.

4.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information: If you email us at support@amoozstudio.app or contact@amoozstudio.app, or fill out our Website contact form, we receive your name, email address, and any content you include in your message.
  • Blog comments (if and when the blog feature becomes available): If you leave a comment on a blog post, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your comment. Your name and the comment may be displayed publicly if enabled.
  • Data access or deletion requests: If you exercise your data rights (described in Section 15), we will collect information needed to verify your identity and fulfill your request, such as your device identifier or email address.

4.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, screen size, device language, country setting, and manufacturer.

  • Compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): When the law requires us to keep certain records or respond to legal requests.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have the right to withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent. See Section 15 for details on your rights.

7. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the limited circumstances described below. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

7.1 With Service Providers

We share information with the following categories of third-party service providers who help us operate our Services:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers (Google Firebase, including Firestore, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics, and Analytics);
  • AI processing provider (Anthropic PBC, operator of Claude AI);

  • Email infrastructure (the provider behind support@amoozstudio.app and contact@amoozstudio.app).

Each of these service providers is bound by its own privacy policy and data processing agreement. We have chosen providers with strong privacy commitments, but we cannot control their policies or practices directly. Section 8 provides links to each provider’s privacy policy.

7.2 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests;
  • Protect the safety, rights, property, or security of Amooz App Studio, our users, or the public;
  • Investigate, prevent, or address suspected fraud, unauthorized use, or other illegal activity;
  • Enforce our Terms of Service.

7.3 In a Business Transfer

As noted in Section 1, Amooz App Studio is currently operated as a personal project. We plan to transfer ownership of MathStudy from our personal developer account to an Amooz App Studio business entity in the future, once business registration is complete. We may also transfer ownership of our Services in connection with a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction. In any such case, we will ensure that the recipient is bound to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, or that you are notified and given an opportunity to delete your information before the transfer.

7.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information in other ways with your explicit consent.

7.5 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not and have never sold your personal information for monetary value. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes. See Section 15.3 for information about the California “Do Not Sell or Share” right.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption in transit: All communication between the App, our backend (Firebase), and our AI Provider is encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
  • Encryption at rest: Data stored in Firebase is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud.
  • Access controls: Only authorized personnel (currently, only the developer) have access to backend data, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
  • Secure keystore management: App signing keys and secrets are stored securely and are not embedded in source code.
  • Minimum data collection: We only collect data that is necessary to operate the Services.
  • Regular security updates: We apply security patches to dependencies and libraries used in our Services.

Despite our best efforts, no security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11.1 United States (COPPA)

MathStudy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 in violation of the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@amoozstudio.app and we will take steps to remove it.

11.2 European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR-K)

In some European Union member states, in the United Kingdom, and in other parts of the EEA, the age of digital consent is higher than 13 (up to 16 in some countries). If you are located in the EU, UK, or EEA and are under 16 years of age, please obtain your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission before using our Services. We rely on parental consent being obtained offline by the user. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used our Services without your consent, please contact us and we will delete the relevant data.

11.3 Bangladesh

Consistent with local norms and emerging data protection standards in Bangladesh, we encourage parental supervision for users under 18. Parents or guardians who have concerns about a minor’s use of our Services may contact us to request deletion.

11.4 Design Choices for a 13+ Audience

To reflect our 13+ audience, we:

  • Serve only non-personalized advertisements (we do not build advertising profiles of users);
  • Do not require account creation, which reduces the amount of personal information collected;
  • Do not sell any user information;
  • Limit data retention in line with Section 9.

12. Amooz App Studio Website (amoozstudio.app)

This section describes how we handle information collected through our Website at amoozstudio.app.

12.1 Website Hosting

The Website is built on the WordPress content management system and is hosted by Hostinger. When you visit the Website, Hostinger’s servers automatically receive information about your visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and timestamps. This information is used by Hostinger to operate the hosting service and by us to understand how the Website is used.

12.2 Contact Form

The Website includes a contact form. When you submit the contact form, we collect:

  • Your name;
  • Your email address;
  • The content of your message;
  • The date and time of submission.

We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. Contact form submissions are sent to our support email address (support@amoozstudio.app or contact@amoozstudio.app) and may be retained as described in Section 9.

12.3 Blog

The Website has a blog feature that is currently disabled. When the blog becomes available, readers may be able to leave comments on blog posts. If you leave a comment:

  • Your name, email address, and comment content will be collected;
  • Your name and comment may be displayed publicly. Your email address will not be displayed publicly but will be retained for moderation purposes;
  • Your comment, along with associated metadata (such as IP address and approximate timestamp), may be processed to prevent spam;
  • You may request deletion of your comments at any time.

12.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate properly and to help us understand how visitors use the Website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device by your browser.

Categories of cookies we use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the Website to function. These cannot be disabled. Examples: session cookies, cookies used by WordPress to remember if a logged-in administrator is on the site, and cookies that remember whether you have accepted the cookie banner.
  • Analytics cookies: Used by Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website. These cookies track information like which pages you visit, how long you stay on each page, and how you arrived at the Website. Analytics cookies are set only after you consent (where consent is required, such as for visitors from the EU and UK).
  • Functional cookies: Remember your preferences, such as language or whether you have accepted the cookie notice.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies that have already been set. Blocking cookies may affect the functionality of the Website. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

12.5 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on the Website to measure traffic and understand usage patterns. Google Analytics collects information such as:

  • IP address (anonymized where available);
  • Pages viewed and time spent on each page;
  • Referring URL;
  • Browser and device information;
  • General geographic location (country or city level).

Google Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with its privacy policy. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses where possible. More information about how Google uses this data is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

12.6 Embedded Content From Other Websites

Blog articles and Website pages may include embedded content from other websites (for example, YouTube videos or social media embeds). Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website directly. These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. We do not control this collection.

12.7 Links to External Websites

The Website may link to external sites that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. MathStudy Android App

This section describes how we handle information collected through the MathStudy Android app specifically.

13.1 No Account Required

MathStudy does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal identifiers such as your name or email address to use the App. Instead, the App assigns your installation an anonymous Firebase Installation ID so we can save your history and usage data under your device.

13.2 What MathStudy Collects

When you use MathStudy, the following information may be collected:

13.2.1 Images and AI Content

  • Photos of math problems that you take with your camera or upload from your device gallery. Only images you specifically select are uploaded; the App does not scan your gallery.
  • AI-generated responses, including step-by-step solutions, problem classifications, and difficulty labels.
  • Text you generate through the AI Tutor interface (for example, when the AI asks for clarification or when you interact with the chat).

These images and content are sent to our backend (Firebase Cloud Functions) and, from there, to our AI Provider (Anthropic) for processing. The AI Provider returns a solution, which is shown to you in the App. See Section 13.3 for the full AI processing flow.

13.2.2 Usage Data

  • Feature usage events (for example: app_opened, scan_used, practice_started, history_downloaded, dark_mode_toggled, calculator_evaluated).
  • Scan counters (how many scans you have used today and this month, to enforce free-tier limits of 3 per day and 10 per month).
  • Which AI model was used for a given session (Claude Sonnet for hard or image-based problems; Claude Haiku for easier problems).
  • Method selections (which solving method you chose when multiple methods are offered).
  • Practice session results (how many questions answered, which topic, whether you used Show Steps).

13.2.3 Device and Diagnostic Data

  • Device model, manufacturer, Android version, locale, and screen size.
  • Crash reports (collected by Firebase Crashlytics), including stack traces, App state at the time of the crash, and non-identifying device information.
  • Application version number and build information.
  • Non-precise location data (country or region only, derived from IP address).

13.2.4 Subscription and Billing Data

  • Your current subscription tier (Free or Premium) and expiration date.
  • Subscription product purchased (monthly or yearly).
  • Purchase tokens from Google Play (used to verify subscriptions).

We do NOT receive your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Google Play Billing; we only receive confirmation that a purchase was successful.

13.2.5 Advertising Data (Free Tier Only)

  • Android Advertising ID (AAID), used in a limited, non-personalized manner. See Section 16.
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks), reported to Google AdMob.

13.3 How Images and Math Problems Are Processed by AI

When you submit a math problem using the scan or upload feature, the following happens:

  1. The image you selected is resized (to a maximum of 1024 pixels on the longer side) and compressed (JPEG, approximately 85% quality) on your device to reduce upload size.
  2. The resized image is sent over an encrypted (TLS) connection to our Firebase Cloud Function.
  3. Our Firebase Cloud Function forwards the image to our AI Provider (Anthropic) via Anthropic’s API, over an encrypted connection.
  4. The AI Provider processes the image and returns a text-based solution.
  5. The solution is streamed back to the App and shown to you.
  6. A record of the session is stored in Firebase Firestore and linked to your anonymous Firebase Installation ID.

Our AI Provider (Anthropic) is independent of Amooz App Studio. Anthropic may process the content of your scans to generate responses and, in limited circumstances, to detect abuse or comply with legal obligations. According to Anthropic’s commercial terms, inputs submitted via the API are not used to train Anthropic’s models by default. For more information, see Anthropic’s privacy policy at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

What to avoid uploading: Please do not scan or upload images that contain personal information unrelated to the math problem (for example, identification documents, personal photos, medical records, or sensitive information about other people). We recommend cropping your images to include only the math content before submitting.

13.4 Cloud Function Caching

To improve performance and reduce costs, our Firebase Cloud Function may cache anonymized responses to commonly submitted math problems. Caches are keyed by a hash of the problem content and do not contain identifying information. Cache entries expire automatically after a limited period.

13.5 Permissions Requested by MathStudy

MathStudy requests the following Android permissions:

  • Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required to scan math problems using the in-app scanner. Only used when you tap the scan button. We do not record video or access your camera in the background.
  • Internet (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to communicate with our backend and AI Provider.
  • Network state (android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required to detect whether your device is online so we can show appropriate error messages.
  • Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): Required to process subscription purchases through Google Play Billing.

We do NOT request permissions for location, contacts, SMS, phone calls, microphone, calendar, or files outside of images you explicitly select.

13.6 Data Stored on Your Device

In addition to data sent to our backend, MathStudy stores some data locally on your device:

  • Preferences (for example, dark mode setting);
  • A cached copy of your recent history for offline viewing;
  • KaTeX rendering assets (for the Calculator feature).

You can clear local data by clearing the App’s storage in your Android settings or by uninstalling the App.

13.7 Data Stored in Our Backend (Firebase)

The following data is stored in Firebase Firestore, linked to your anonymous Firebase Installation ID:

  • Your scan history (problem image reference, AI response, timestamp, tier at the time of the scan);
  • Your scan counters (daily and monthly usage);
  • Your subscription tier and purchase tokens;
  • Basic analytics events (for aggregate analysis; not used to identify individuals).

This data is retained according to the schedule in Section 9.

14. International Data Transfers

Amooz App Studio is based in Bangladesh. Our service providers are located in various countries, including the United States (Google Firebase, Google Analytics, Anthropic, Google AdMob, Hostinger, Automattic and WordPress) and potentially other regions where Google operates data centers.

When you use our Services from outside these countries, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

14.1 Safeguards for International Transfers

For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to countries that are not subject to an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, which may include:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
  • Data Processing Agreements with our service providers that include transfer safeguards;
  • Service providers that are certified under recognized data protection frameworks.

If you have questions about specific safeguards, please contact us.

16. Advertising (MathStudy Free Tier)

16.1 Google AdMob

MathStudy’s free tier includes advertisements delivered by Google AdMob. We plan to integrate AdMob from the initial release, although ads may be initially disabled, limited, or progressively enabled as the user base grows.

When ads are active:

  • We serve non-personalized ads only. Non-personalized ads are selected based on the context of the App and general location (country), not on your individual interests or profile.
  • Google AdMob may collect the Android Advertising ID (AAID) and limited technical information to serve ads and prevent fraud.
  • No sensitive categories (such as health, finance, or religion) are used for ad targeting.

16.2 Why Non-Personalized Ads

Because MathStudy has a 13+ target audience and is available to minors under 16 in some jurisdictions, we have chosen to serve non-personalized ads by default. This is a privacy-protective choice that limits how much information is used for advertising purposes.

16.3 Reset or Limit Your Advertising ID

Android allows you to reset or limit the use of your Advertising ID:

  1. Open your device’s Settings.
  2. Go to Google → Ads.
  3. Tap “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization.”

Details may vary by Android version and device manufacturer.

16.4 AdMob Privacy Practices

Google AdMob is operated by Google LLC. For more information about how Google handles advertising data, see:

17. Data Deletion and Account Closure

Because MathStudy does not require an account, “account deletion” effectively means deletion of the data stored under your installation.

17.1 In-App Deletion

You can delete your MathStudy data from within the App. In Settings, look for the “Delete My Data” option (this feature is being finalized and will be available in a forthcoming update). When you use this option, we will delete:

  • Your session and scan history;
  • Your lifetime usage statistics (total scans, app opens, features used);
  • Your preferences;
  • Your device-specific identifier (Firebase Installation ID).

Anti-abuse counters. A small set of internal counters used to enforce free-tier scan limits (daily and monthly scan counts) is not deleted via the in-app or email deletion process. These counters reset automatically over time — daily counters reset every 24 hours, monthly counters reset at the start of each month. We retain them to prevent abuse of the free tier; this is permitted under the fraud-prevention exception described in Section 17.4. They contain no personally identifiable information.

17.2 Web-Based Deletion Request

You can also request deletion by emailing support@amoozstudio.app with the subject line “Delete My Data.” In your email, please include:

  • The approximate date you first installed MathStudy;
  • Any information that can help us locate your data (for example, your subscription email if you purchased premium, or a device model).

We will delete your data within 30 days of verifying the request. To learn more about how to delete your data or make such a request, please visit our Delete My Data page.

17.3 Uninstalling the App

Uninstalling MathStudy removes the local data on your device but does NOT automatically delete the data stored in our backend (Firebase). To delete backend data, please use one of the methods above.

17.4 Exceptions

Even after your data is deleted, we may retain certain information if required by law (for example, for tax records relating to a purchase, or to comply with a legal obligation), or to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or prevent fraud. Any such retained information will be limited to what is strictly necessary.

18. “Do Not Track” Signals

Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal to websites. There is no industry consensus about how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our Website does not currently respond to DNT signals. We treat all visitors the same regardless of whether a DNT signal is sent.

19. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

We do not engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. The AI features of MathStudy (solving math problems, classifying difficulty) are designed to provide educational content, not to make decisions about you as an individual.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

  • Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the Policy;
  • Post the updated Policy at amoozstudio.app;
  • For material changes, take additional steps such as sending you an in-app notification or posting a notice on our Website.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our data practices. Continued use of our Services after a Privacy Policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.

20.1 Historical Versions

If we make material changes, we will maintain a list of prior versions of this Privacy Policy for reasonable reference. You may request a previous version by emailing support@amoozstudio.app.

21. Severability

If any part of this Privacy Policy is held to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of the Policy will continue to be valid and enforceable.

22. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict of law principles. However, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, including (where applicable) the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or other data protection laws.

23. Language

This Privacy Policy is written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version will prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between versions, except where local law requires a local-language version to prevail.
